Corrupt Coram Reduces Fentanyl Possession to Misdemeanor
On 5.3.2019 State Senator Don Coram voted in favor of reducing possession of 4 grams or less of fentanyl to a misdemeanor, which previously had been a felony crime. According to the Mesa County Sheriff, 4 grams of fentanyl is “enough to kill up to 2,000 people”. The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports that “...fentanyl is roughly 100 times more potent than morphine, and about 50 times more potent than heroin. Mesa County law enforcement has already seized roughly 15,000 fentanyl pills this year.” (GJSentinel.com 4.21.2022) Corrupt Coram's vote on the bill is listed here. Details of the bill are here.
